Less distraction, more accomplished

It’s been a busy, high mileage, fabulous few weeks. I’ve been to Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Columbia Falls, Kalispell, Canada (Fernie, British Columbia is gorgeous), Seeley Lake, and all points in between. Did training in Helena that’s never been offered in Montana before and can 100% help save lives. Next week I’m off to Missoula to do more training. Loving the opportunity to do leadership trainings with people. I am an educator at heart and helping people get their learning on makes me happy.

No tiktok. No Facebook. Dropped them at New Years. It worked for me. You do you. But I actually detoxed a couple weeks. Had to get past the jonesing about what was going on in the worlds of the world. I’ve had some people reach out to me through text or email or….believe it or not…they actually called and we spoke to each other. I seem to recall that direct communication used to be a thing.

I have way more “me time” to get things done I used to say I didn’t have time to do. I’m sleeping more and better. I’m putting more energy and effort into the things that are important to me. I just enjoyed the Olympics without getting bombarded with commentary about how this kid didn’t sing the anthem or this one failed in this way or any of that. Just curled up with curling, white knuckled watching those kids go 70 mph downhill, saw both the hockey overtime wins. Teared up with them all on the podium remembering 1980. I DO believe in miracles!

The more I prioritize the things that matter most, the more my enjoyment of those things and those people goes up.

And I haven’t even mentioned the cabin. My fortress of solitude. Life at Top Knot is fantastic. The winter has been mild, but not without snow and cold temps. My list of to dos at the cabin will always be there. People always ask, “Is it done?”  It never will be. Just like me, it’s forever a work in progress. Evolving. The more I complete, the more I want to do.

Down 25 pounds so far for 2026. 75 more to go. Nixing social media has helped with that. I can get off my ample ass more and do things.

The year of Less is More is 2 months in and I am diggin it.
