Life at Top Knot

Such a gift of a day today! January 17th and not a lot of snow on the ground today. That is my less is more for today. Less snow allowed me to bring up more and do more at the cabin. 

Found my solution for a bathtub at the cabin. A 100 gallon stock tank. Fits perfectly in the space. I’ll build it in more over time. It’ll make for a great place to shower or take a bath.

I was able to get up on the roof, although it was breezy, and flex seal a couple cracks in the roof from when the wind ripped it off over Christmas. Less places for leaks to happen and more life in the roof.

Then I installed a ceiling fan. Now the heating is consistent all around the cabin. Less hot spots and more comfort.

Relaxing watching the NFL playoff games. Cooked sweet potatoes and chicken tenderloins in the stove. All so very yummy. 

This weekend is very much about less peopling as I will be doing much more next week at the state contractors convention. Recharging my batteries. I’m doing a leadership breakout session at the convention. It is my favorite training I have built to date.

Less is more..I have lost 15 pounds so far this year. Less me is already equating to more energy to do other things.

​Currently at 35,000 feet over the Gulf of ‘Merica on my way back from a trip to my condo in Ecuador with my kids. They’re adults and I’m so grateful they still wanna hang out with the old guy. Sure, a beach trip in December is a mighty tempting lure, but they are strong enough and independent enough to tell me no. And they know I’m totally cool with that. La vida en la playa- The beach life

  As I prepare to launch Less is More, I am thankful for risks I have taken and decisions that have left others wondering why. I worked for a school district for 12 years. Each day I went to work with the mindset that I was there to make things better for kids. That was my job. Upper administration believed the kids came to school each day to generate their income. The more and the louder I disagreed, the more they launched character attacks against me. If you don’t drink the koolaid and weren’t a high school buddy of one of the boys’ club, then you were a menace and targeted. What they failed to understand was that they would not break me.  Fate stepped in during COVID and allowed me opportunity. The older I get, the more I am working in quieting my mind so I can hear those knocks at the door.  I left the toxic district and closed out my career in a fabulous place that shared my ideals about how to make things better for kids.
