Less snow, more Top Knot

Mother Nature was exceptionally kind this weekend. Must have sensed the low battery levels and let me come recharge at Top Knot.

Been an oddly mild winter in Montana….so far. February 1st and the snowpacks seem concerningly low. Less snowpack can equal more fire season. That’s not the least is more I hope for.

But this weekend was a gift. Got to drive clear up to the cabin. Have the new solar power bank rockin. It’s going to be perfect. 

Saw the full moon set on the ridge to the west. Wish I had a better camera for that or, at least, better camera operational skills. It was truly special.

Watched Planet Earth-Africa. This big blue marble has some pretty gorgeous places to see. Learned a little bit. 

Going to cut some firewood today and enjoy this gift I have given myself. Less worry more enjoyment!

​Currently at 35,000 feet over the Gulf of ‘Merica on my way back from a trip to my condo in Ecuador with my kids. They’re adults and I’m so grateful they still wanna hang out with the old guy. Sure, a beach trip in December is a mighty tempting lure, but they are strong enough and independent enough to tell me no. And they know I’m totally cool with that. La vida en la playa- The beach life

  As I prepare to launch Less is More, I am thankful for risks I have taken and decisions that have left others wondering why. I worked for a school district for 12 years. Each day I went to work with the mindset that I was there to make things better for kids. That was my job. Upper administration believed the kids came to school each day to generate their income. The more and the louder I disagreed, the more they launched character attacks against me. If you don’t drink the koolaid and weren’t a high school buddy of one of the boys’ club, then you were a menace and targeted. What they failed to understand was that they would not break me.  Fate stepped in during COVID and allowed me opportunity. The older I get, the more I am working in quieting my mind so I can hear those knocks at the door.  I left the toxic district and closed out my career in a fabulous place that shared my ideals about how to make things better for kids.
